About Us


The Mount Rushmore Road Group formed and enacted its bylaws September, 2005 and was approved as a 501c(6) non-profit organization.


To improve safety and aesthetics of Mount Rushmore Road for the community and visitors and to keep Mount Rushmore Road a viable corridor and gateway to Mount Rushmore as well as a business and historical destination for residents and visitors that encourages a clean, safe and secure neighborhood.


The membership is open to all businesses and persons living on or near Mount Rushmore Road as well as any person or business interested in the purposes of the organization. Annual dues are $75.00. There are four elected officers to the board, President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. All serve without compensation for one year. There are no restrictions on the number of terms an individual can serve. There are meetings every third Tuesday of each month from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at Black Hills Bagels. Subcommittees meet irregularly depending upon the committee and its projects. Subcommittees report monthly to the full membership at the monthly meetings. Minutes are kept of the monthly meetings. The meetings are open to everyone. The monthly meeting facilities are donated by Black Hills Bagels. The majority supplies are donated by Black Hills Bagels and Noah’s Ark Animal Hospital.


To enhance cooperation between businesses, citizens, schools, city and state.


To research and develop improvements and infrastructure to address pedestrian and vehicular safety to meet expected traffic and development demands and to develop street-scape and landscape improvements that address safety, drainage and aesthetics. In particular, Mount Rushmore Road Group is concerned with pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular safety for the surrounding neighborhood, schools and visitors.

As our mission statement said, we're here to improve safety and aesthetics of Mt Rushmore Road through development and improvements. If you work, live or are a business owner on Mt Rushmore Road, then being a member of this group should be of great importance to you. It's the input provided by members that enables us to continue pushing for the improvements needed to better enhance the look, feel, and efficiency of Mount Rushmore Road.
